East Perth is an inner suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located next to the Perth central business district. Formerly characterised by industrial land uses and urban blight, the redevelopment of East Perth was, and remains, the largest inner-city urban renewal project in the state. The design of the new residential neighbourhoods was strongly influenced by the new urbanism movement. East Perth contains one education facility, Trinity College, a Catholic day college catering to boys aged between Year 4 and Year 12. East Perth is also home to some of Perth’s premier sporting facilities, namely the WACA Ground operated by the Western Australian Cricket Association and Gloucester Park, the home of harness racing in Western Australia.
